Sayalay Khama first came into contact with the Dhamma at the age of 12, and started meditation practice at age 20. She was first ordained in 2001 as a Mahayana Bhikkhuni and stayed in Taiwan for 6 ½ years. She then spent the next 12 years learning Samatha and Vipassana in Myanmar, as a Sayalay under the Pa Auk Sayadaw tradition.
Since returning to Malaysia in 2020, during the MCO Lockdown, Sayalay Khama has been staying at several places for self-retreat. She is currently residing at the Bodhi Hearts Sanctuary in Penang.
